This is the last part of the series.

There are improvements that are continuous and continual.  To get more of the difference, you can visit  To summarize, you can carry out continual improvement while doing continuous improvement in your business processes.

It is very important to measure what has improved when you have a business from the time you started until the present. You need to check on the results versus your objectives and goals, analyze them and check what you can do to prevent recurrence of problems and occurrence of potential problems.

This principle will help you analyze the market and the risks, review more your customer needs and expectations, learn from past experiences, self-assess, and prevent out-of-control approaching problems.


This principle of making decisions based on evidences is admittedly familiar already to many.  You need information that relates to your business information and data, and analysis of these to make effective decisions.  However, you need to make sure that the data and information you have are correct, reliable, and secure.

For your business to reach to effective decisions, you have to test carefully all options taking all the pros and cons, comparing them to earlier similar decisions if needed, and realizing what actions you need to take immediately.

You need to decide based on the gathered and analyzed data and information not based on your intuition.


pexels-photo-327533In managing a QMS (quality management system) of a business organization, it is important to consider interested parties that can affect how your business performs.

You have to name who these interested parties are. Definitely the first in your list are your customers. But who are the others? They maybe your employees or staff, your suppliers, your investors, and maybe even the society you belong. Whoever they are,

This principle emphasizes that you have to build and manage relationships with those interested parties. Why? Well, you need them to succeed. You need them to improve by collaborating with them especially about further developing what you started for your business.

To wrap up, these principles are very helpful as your guide to a successful business. Other related business principles are equally important. All these principles you use and combine will let your business stay.

The Seven (7) Quality Principles Part 2

Before I continue writing this post, I would like to share that I use Hootsuite to manage my social media marketing.  It is best used by project managers and content writers. WordPress also has a sharing widget where you input your social media links and your blog posts will be automatically shared.

I am imploring the graces of the Almighty that I can complete all tasks to keep up.  It will be hard to connect with everybody for the meantime but I am not an energizer bunny as Renard puts it.  There will always be a time for everything.

I continue from the first post about the seven quality principles:


Considering this principle, the leaders in an organization will let everybody use their abilities with the same objectives and goals.  This will benefit not only the business’ organization but also everybody in it.

Making people work with gusto all the time is difficult.  A work situation or condition will always affect disposition and attitude.  It is not as easy to get people be engaged as we like it to happen.  Why is this so?

There is a multitude of factors why people refuse involvement and engagement.  You can only meet this objective if you stretch out recognizing their efforts and abilities, empowering them by trusting and giving respect, and strengthening their skills and knowledge.

If you are a sole proprietor, who are you engaged with?  It is the people, and group of people, in your network.  You need the same alignment of objectives and goals.  Entrusting them with some matters about your business will strengthen the ties.  For example, asking them about their opinion on a particular decision will make them feel they are trustworthy.

You do not have people to enhance their skills and knowledge but recommending others in your network for their excellent work will engage them into helping you meet your business goals.



I am not sure if this is a familiar thing for everybody.  Process approach is the method of identifying and managing processes and interaction of processes.  The authors based the approached on this line of thought – all activities in a business organization are interrelated.

As a business owner, including the sole proprietor, understanding what you are trying to meet and how this relates to your customer will help improve your business.

Using this principle in your business is very helpful as you will be able to look at the matter as one big process with the inputs and outputs, the needed resources, controls and measures, and the links to other processes.

If you are aiming for continual improvement, this systematic method will definitely give what you need.  You can also use the PDCA cycle method as an extra tool.

The Seven (7) Quality Principles Part 1

In a recent training that was conducted for the organization I am working for, the speaker included a discussion about the seven quality principles of the new quality management system (QMS) standard.  A quality management system, for the information of many, is the set of processes, procedures, policies, etc. needed in planning, implementation and maintenance of a business to meet customer requirements.

I am a fan of the number 7 that is why these quality principles got my attention.  Anybody involved in any business of any type can use them to achieve success.  In fact, even if you are a sole proprietor, they can help you in improving your business, performance-wise, by using them as guide or even as a framework for your business.

Here are the seven quality principles, and how a business owner can use them:


With this principle, understanding you customers’ needs is the primary center of attention.  You may both consider the current and future needs of a customer.  A client for a content writer, for example, may require a particular writing style for his business as his present need.  A content writer may consider methods to learn other writing styles if the client will think of another style for his business in the future.

It is also important to meet your customers’ requirements.  Their satisfaction is the key to continuous patronage.  Why will they consider other external providers when you can deliver what they need effectively and efficiently?

There is another part of this principle you must not forget.  You need to exceed what your customer expects you to do.  How I am going to do that?  You might ask.  This is actually the most difficult part.  Most business owners focus only in the two aspects – understanding customer’s needs and meeting customer’s requirements – and that’s it.

Exceeding customer expectations is either disregarded or overlooked and there are many reasons why.  Most business owners believe that most of their customers are happy because they have given already what they need according to the order specifications and the expected delivery time.

Business owners should not forget that it is essential to get customer feedback, too, and they should know how to address them so. Learning about their good and bad experience, their complaints, criticisms, suggestions, ideas, etc. must inspire a business owner to do more for his customers.  Letting them feel that they are talking to a real person who can help them should always be the motto.  It is in knowing that comes loving, someone reminded.


It is easier to use this principle in an organization composed of leaders.  Leaders have to show unity of purpose and direction of the business.  They must also create a business environment where the members will work to meet the same goals and objectives.  They have to keep up this environment, too, and what better way is there but to check if everything is aligned to the overall goal of the organization.

But what if you are a sole proprietor?  How are you going to use this principle?  You can do this by being an example to other leaders in your industry.  For example, being consistent in providing quality content to clients and assisting a community in addressing issues about writing and related matters.

Being the sole owner of a business, you can create a culture of trust and integrity among your fellow businessmen.  You are a leader not in your own organization but among your peers and acquaintances that offer the same service.

The Future of Websites and Blogs I Haven’t Seen Yet

Facebook people have their way of saying things. Take for example – Success demands purpose, by Born Realist, with a video of Angelina Jolie finding her purpose and becoming successful.

That is exactly what I see as the future of websites and blogs – successful because of their purpose.  Don’t get me wrong.  I have nothing against anybody just wanting to write anything that comes to mind.  Having a blog or a website for personal use is okay.  After all, blogs evolved from web logs which are like journals containing a ‘diary of information, specific topics, or opinions’ (see Techopedia).

How to Find a Powerful Image for a Unique Blog Post

There are two issues to discuss in this post.  Powerful image and unique blog post.  Each of the two intends to give to the other. Here’s how it is.

If you choose the image below to convey this action–> FIND for the above headline or title, does it do justice to the post?

It does not seem to serve the purpose well.  The two people may look like they’re finding something in a spacious area.  It may look like they are simply walking to a certain destination.  The image conveys many messages that are subjective.  It does not immediately suggest the ‘FIND’ action word.

For a unique blog post, everything in it should follow.  All of the parts are unique from the headline to the first sentence to the body and down to the conclusion.  If you wanted to insert an image, it has to give to the purpose of writing a unique blog post.  Choose an image that is powerful.
